Artists

In 2020, during the pandemic, I started an instagram artist’s page to learn about and feature photographers and artists of all stripes. I always had an interest in photography and loved taking photos, particularly of the light and sky and quirky, unexpected or delightful moments. The instagram artist’s page became rich territory for discovery and inspiration. During the isolation and crushing boredom of the pandemic, it was my hope to inspire and be inspired.

I have gained a deeper appreciation for the creative journey through the lens or brush of hundreds of different artists. I have discovered that the artist’s journey is not a straight line from point A to B and it can begin at any age. It is a living hopscotch and active quest – finding your voice and your way through many twists and turns.

I often feel a kinship with the artists I feature – their journeys, their humanitarian pursuits, their creative explorations, their connection to spirit/God or nature, their mystical inclinations, the depth of feeling and insight they bring to capturing the human experience as they see it, and their pure love for visual storytelling. I am particularly moved by the artists I find who see visual storytelling as a vehicle for intuitive expression – translating what is felt though not always seen or visible to the eye. ~ Christiane Schull

The photo below was taken as I stood on the dock of a lake and prayed for a small seaplane struggling to land. I could feel a divine presence surround me. I pulled out my i-phone and took a few pictures. On looking at the photos, I was astonished to see the faint pink outline of angel wings.
