On May 5th, 2026, I faced the blank page. On May 18th, I completed the first draft of a screenplay. A dark comedy.
I listened to Paul Schrader who made so much sense to me. Then I embraced David Lynch’s approach – building the story out in 77 scenes on cue cards.
I lived with those cue cards for two weeks before sitting down to write.
I tuned in and opened up to the energy. I gave myself the discipline of twelve pages a day, to completion.
The screenplay format had felt impenetrable. This process helped me find my way. So grateful. More to learn. More to write and create.
